5. Run the financial dayAs mayor, one financial day passes every two minutes of active play. Bills, loan payments and tax deadlines pause while you are away.
6. Buy land and buildBuy parcels and build homes, groceries, schools, hospitals, police, hotels, gardens and more.
7. Grow your neighborhoodsHomes fill up when amenities are close by and residents get their food. Better neighborhoods pay higher rent.
8. Use the bank carefullyBorrow against your property to grow faster, but keep enough cash for every payment. Three missed payments can cost you the pledged property.
9. Pay the federal taxA tax bill lands every 30 financial days, like a monthly bill. You have five days to pay it. Unpaid tax freezes your town.

💡Tips from the Chief Advisor

• Invest first. Build what earns before what looks good.
• Keep a cushion. Hold at least two days of bills, plus your next tax estimate, in cash.
• Feed your residents. A grocery needs both bread and fruit, or homes start to empty.
• Build near homes. Schools and hospitals on the same block raise occupancy and rent.
• Renovate on time. At 30 years a building is worn: tenants leave and upkeep rises.
